Damn you, Facebook

Facebook has totally sucked time away from my other on-line homes. But it's all been worth it for the Scrabulous. Still, every on-line format has its own set of advantages, and one of the advantages of this place is the privacy and ability to embed videos. The post below is the infamous - but still relatively family friendly! - original 1985 version of Spin Me Round, which totally brings me back to living in Vancouver with the twins and Ravina. I haven't heard it in years, but it shows up on the soundtrack of DDR Hottest Party for the Wii (along with 99 Red Balloons, Karma Chameleon, and more). I suspect the track selection is based on Nintendo's mission to ensure that the Wii platform is appealing to multiple generations - and it's pretty hard to resist wanting to play when you get these weird 80's flashbacks.

Anyway, the kids immediately found the youtube video of the original 1985 video, posted below. These guys actually remade the song in 1996 and 2003, extending their one-hit wonder status to 3-clone-hit wonder status, but with slightly disconcerting bondage themes.  But the original is still campy and fun.
