I was solidly outvoted on going to the zoo. I really wasn't at all interested on the grounds that Tim and I had been there in 1994, and I didn't think it was all that great, and also, because we have a zoo nearby in Calgary. To the latter argument, Stasha put up a pretty good rebuttal: "but you never bring us there". Point taken. So, how many times do we have a zoo in walking distance? fine, we'll go.
see how far away we are from Calgary?
this creeped me out a little. Special needs meerkats.
Meerkats understanding special needs meerkats, watching benevolently
happy elephant. I hope.
Less happy animals, unable to swim in the water due to jellyfish.
Jellyfish days were days we went downtown and wandered around. Tim and I were shocked to find that the Maritime museum which we remembered fondly from our earlier trip was closed due to need for repair and lack of funding. But one thing we remembered was how many colorful fish there were in the harbour - and there still are. It was teeming with colorful fish - this picture really does not do it justice. But it was fun to hang out and watch them, among the urchins and anemones.
