moving into May

I wrote my one and only final exam last Tuesday, and now have a week off till classes for the early summer session start on May 8. It was as nerve-wracking as I remember, somehow made worse by being so late and having almost too much time to prepare.

Meanwhile, Tim made these great planters for raised beds, which he and the kids dug in and filled with soil and grass clippings - peat moss to come later. Theo's idea is to have a "I pee funny" garden filled with asparagus and red beets. There's only so far you can take that theme. I think we'll get them to stick to carrots and lettuce.

And it's Bocce season again!

Bocce, baby!
