Yakity Yak!

The Tibetan monks visited the kid's school to present the Yak Dance and slide show. What's not to like about a grinning yak?

The yak's happy face cracks me up:

The, we went for our daily after school visit to see how the sand mandala is coming along. The kids just love this, although I'm always secretly freaking out that they might jar one of the monk's elbows. (See Stasha in the far corner? I keep warning them to give the monks enough room, otherwise they'd be crawling right over them)

The kids really enjoy this. Stasha reports that she got her picture taken with the Buddha this morning.
"That's not the Buddha. That's the Rinpoche". I said.
"Well, I'll just call him Buddha"
"You can't. He's not the buddha, he's the Rinpoche".
"Okay, then, I got my picture taken with the Rin-buddha-che".

Theo also reports on a conversation with one of the younger monks at the gallery area: as he was perusing a picture, the young monk pointed to himself "Me". Then at the picture: "Paint!" Theo: "Wow!" Gotta love that multicultural interaction.
