Even thousands of miles away, some things never change. The boy always somehow finds a way to re-create his natural habitat.
But it's still distinctly far away from home. We had a wonderful time snorkeling in Hanaumea Bay, which was like snorkeling in a giant aquarium, seeing many of the same species we saw in the Waikiki aquarium earlier in the week. It was the first time in decades Tim and I had snorkeled - since Puerto Vallarta, in the early nineties - and a first time for the kids. They took to it naturally, both being comfortable swimmers. Aside from being alarmed by aggressive parrotfish on occasion, it was a hugely successful day on Easter Day. The kids described is as being like an Easter Egg hunt, only under water.
Loved the sand, the warm water, and general beachy-ness.
wearing toenail colours that you can only wear in tropical areas.
