At last, it's Friday

I love Fridays. The kids only get half a day of school on Friday. Mind you, this week they were dismissed at noon on Wednesday and Thursday as well because of parent-teacher interviews, so it feels like we've had three Fridays in a row. (Too bad we didn't have three Saturday mornings to go along with it)

Img_2168Pork chops and rice! the breakfast of champions! I'm sure the kids would eat this every morning if they could.

We have had an uncommonly dry and warm fall. It was a good day for a coulee walk. Theo brought along his rock book and animal tracks book.

Img_2213Pretty much every track is a deer track, although other possibilities put forward by the children were 1) bear 2) raccoon 3) wolverine, none of which actually look like deer prints.

Img_2235We did also find a coal seam, the reason Lethbridge used to be called Coal Banks. According to Theo, we also found emeralds, hematite, obsidian, etc. Mostly, I think we found pretty green and black rocks.

Img_2258Theo still likes to hold hands when we walk. I hope that lasts a while longer.

  1. Pork chops for breakfast are the best! And very Homer-esque, I might add.
