While cleaning out the deep freeze, Tim found this one package of raspberries from the bushes we inherited when we bought this house. Alas, we had to cut/dig them out to make room for a garden shed, and our attempts to relocate them elsewhere completely failed. So we haven't had our own fresh raspberries for years. This is literally, the last from that batch, and had been buried in the freezer for a couple of years. I wasn't sure how they would taste. But the first spoonful was so fresh and sharp, I nearly swooned. On such a cold winter morning, it tasted so vividly of summer.
